Incident
Officer Lessler suffered a fatal heart attack as a result of a stressful situation while on duty. He was assigned to the 10th Precinct.
Officer Lessler served with the NYPD for seven years and was awarded a medal for Excellent Police Duty for a Nov. 9, 1953 incident where he pulled an emotionally distressed woman from a third-floor building ledge into safety.
