Incident

Patrolman George Gusrang was shot and killed without warning while speaking to several citizens.

The men had been inside a local tavern when they were approached by a stranger who started speaking to them about a recent murder. The men attempted to end the conversation by leaving the tavern and walking to the street. Patrolman Gusrang happened to be walking by and started talking to the men. The subject who had been speaking about the murder then exited the tavern and immediately shot Patrolman Gusrang twice without warning. After he fell to the ground the man then shot him in the chest again at pointblank range.
