Incident
Died from multiple injuries sustained, while pursuing a suspect vehicle, which had driven through a red traffic light late at night, when both the suspect vehicle and his police patrol car overturned on a bend at Bryn near Port Talbot.
Two 17 year old youths were arrested and reported for dangerous driving and other motoring offences.
Gary had been a Special Constable in Neath before joining the Metropolitan Police, where he served for 10 years, receiving a commendation for finding a terrorist bomb; he transferred to South Wales in October 1999 based at Maesteg Police Station.
He was survived by his wife and 18 month old daughter.
