Incident

Detective Frank Hueftlein was shot and killed while attempting to arrest a man wanted for robbing a bank messenger at 23 Garfield Place. A second detective was also wounded in the exchange. The suspect was convicted and executed for the murder and executed on April 27th, 1923. Detective Hueftlein had served with the Cincinnati Police Department for 24 years.
