Incident

Investigator Ed Murphy was killed in a helicopter crash while assisting in the search of burglary suspects. The helicopter crashed when it struck power lines over FM 2673 one mile north of Startzville. The pilot survived the crash but Investigator Murphy suffered fatal injuries. Investigator Murphy was a United States Marine Corps veteran. He had served with the Comal County Sheriff's Office for nine years.
