Incident

Patrolman Edward Nowakowski was killed in a motorcycle accident while he and his partner pursued a traffic violator. Another vehicle pulled out in front of them at 3rd Street and Winkler Avenue, striking Patrolman Nowakowski head-on. Patrolman Nowakowski was a U.S Navy veteran of WWII and had served with the Louisville Police Department for five years.

Survivors

He was survived by his wife.
