Incident

Correction Officer Edward Jaworski was beaten to death by an inmate armed with a baseball bat.

The 26-year-old inmate, serving a life sentence for murdering his sister-in-law, was convicted of Officer Jaworski's murder and received another life sentence. On September 10, 1953, he was found dead in his cell. An autopsy revealed he died from a blood clot.
