Incident
Sergeant Don Lansing was killed in a vehicle crash on Fort Ord while returning from the base's shooting range.
He was returning to the Monterey Police Department when his pickup truck collided with a two and a half ton Army truck. Sergeant Lansing was authorized to use his private vehicle and was on duty and in uniform at the time of the crash.
