Dominic R. Verdi
Incident
Chief Dominic Verdi was killed in an automobile crash on US 90 near Crosby, Texas while attending a regional conference on organized crime. His vehicle collided almost head-on with a tractor-trailer. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Chief Verdi had served in law enforcement for a total of 38 years with the New Orleans Police Department, Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office, and Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Department.
Survivors
He is survived by his wife, six children, 11 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
