Officer Craig Schultz was killed in a motorcycle accident on I-29 while responding to another accident.
During his response, his motorcycle went out of control when it struck a wet spot on the roadway on southbound I-29 near the I-635 interchange.
Officer Schultz had been a member of the Kansas City Police Department for 11 years and is survived by his wife and two young daughters.
