Incident
Deputy Sheriff Cornelius Anderson died two days after suffering heatstroke while participating in a 1-1/2 mile run while attending the Basic Peace Officer’s Course at the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Academy.
Deputy Anderson had served with the Harris County Sheriff's Office for one year as a detention officer and was training to become a sheriff's deputy. He was posthumously promoted.
Hey brother, been thinking about you a lot and think about you every night I get out there on patrol. You would be in tears with laughter knowing I finally buckled down and became a family man after all that time we spent working the jails together and me saying I would never get tied down. Rest easy bro,
Constable Deputy J. Burrell HCCO4 April 20th, 2024
