Incident

Detective Clayton Robinson was shot and killed during an arrest. Detective Robinson had his gun drawn making an arrest at W. Blackhawk Street and N. Larrabee Street. As two additional officers pulled up to assist Detective Robinson, the subject pulled out a pistol and shot him. The two arriving officers then shot and killed the man when he turned toward them with his gun. Detective Robinson received 15 commendations during his career. He was assigned to Damen Avenue, Area 6 Robbery Division.

Survivors

Detective Robinson is survived by his wife, two sons, and two daughters.
