Incident

Officer Madison was shot and killed while investigating a disturbance at a local hotel. Upon Officer Madison's arrival he discovered the suspect had left. He pursued the suspect and when he caught him a struggle ensued. The suspect was able to gain control of Officer Madison's weapon and shot him. Three months later the 45-year-old suspect was found guilty of second degree murder and sentenced to 20 years.

Survivors

Officer Madision was survived by his wife and four children.
