Incident
Detective Chuck Schuta was struck and killed by a vehicle on I-95 while assisting the New York City Police Department in a vehicle pursuit. He had stopped traffic and was crossing the street when a bus drove into a stopped truck, and he was crushed in the chain reaction. The suspects in the pursuit were apprehended and charged with attempted larceny. No charges were filed against the bus driver. Detective Schuta had served with the Pelham Manor Police Department for nine years.
