Incident

Corporal Catherine Crawford died of injuries received at the county jail two years prior. Her injuries required surgery that caused her to develop breathing difficulties. After further tests, it was determined that blood clots had traveled to her lungs due to her injury. She succumbed to complications of her injuries on March 5, 1995. Corporal Crawford had served with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office for over 12 years.

Survivors

She is survived by her husband and three children.
