Incident
Officer Carlos King was shot and killed when he attempted to take action during a robbery while working an off-duty job as a cab driver. A subject attempted to rob Officer King. When Officer King identified himself as a Police Officer and arrest the suspect, he was shot and killed. The suspect thought to be 16 years old, was charged with murder. Then it was discovered he was only 15 and could only be tried in family court according to New York law. The most severe term he could receive would be three years in reformatory school. Officer King served 12 years with the New York City Transit Police Department and was assigned to Transit District 2.

He was survived by his wife and two sons.
