Incident
Police Officer Carl Peterson was shot and killed as he was using a call box at the corner of West Lexington Street and Greene Street. A man attacked him, took his revolver, and shot him in the head. The suspect was arrested a short time later and told officers that he did not know why he shot Officer Peterson. Officer Peterson had served with the Baltimore City Police Department for 20 years.
Survivors
He was survived by his wife and stepdaughter.
