Incident
Investigator Carl Greene was shot and killed while serving a search warrant for illegal liquor still on a farm on East Montgomery Road (modern-day I-45) approximately 10-1/2 miles east of Houston at about 8:30 am. He and his partner were able to return fire, striking the suspect three times and killing him. Investigator Greene had served with the Harris County District Attorney's Office as a liquor investigator for approximately one year and had previously served with the Houston Police Department for three years.
Survivors
He was survived by his wife, mother, four brothers, and two sisters.
