Incident

Officer Camile Madere was killed when his motorcycle struck a tractor-trailer while he was on patrol at Katella Avenue west of State Route 39 in Stanton. The truck pulled out in front of him, causing him to slide under the truck. He was killed instantly. Officer Madere was a United States Army World War II veteran and served with the California Highway Patrol.

Survivors

He was survived by his wife, five children, and parents.
