Incident

Deputy Sheriff Burns Almon was shot and killed while conducting a raid on a still east of Decatur.

As the officers arrived at the scene the suspects began to flee the scene on foot. One of the suspects fell to the ground and opened fire, striking Deputy Almon. That suspect was shot and killed.
