Incident
Deputy Brad Mabee was killed in a single-vehicle crash after striking a tree half-mile south of Goodson on Polk County P. It is thought that he may have been attempting to catch up with a speeder or swerved to avoid hitting a deer. His emergency lights were on. Deputy Mabee had served with the Polk County Sheriff's Office for two years.

He was survived by his expectant wife.
