Biography

Boyd Raburn was born on January 10, 1948, and grew up in Oklahoma. Boyd was always athletic in his youth; running track and playing football, basketball, and baseball. After his high school graduation in 1968, Boyd worked for the Rock Island Railroad briefly before joining the United States Air Force in 1969. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force in 1974, with the encouragement of his brother Texas State Trooper Jerry Raburn, Boyd went into Law Enforcement. He had a long career serving at Denton Police Department, Lewisville Police Department, Melissa Police Department, Highland Village Police Department, and finally Trophy Club Police Department where he retired in 2011. During his career, he enjoyed serving on SWAT teams, Animal Control, and Code Enforcement. Boyd spent his time after retirement frequently at the Fort Worth Zoo taking pictures since photography was one of his favorite hobbies. Boyd had a full life overflowing with love, family, adventure, and laughs. Boyd met his wife, Carol on a blind date on Saint Patrick’s Day in 2007. Carol’s friend, Freddie, had set them up, saying “He cusses as much as she does!” They fell in love that night and later married in 2018. They spent their life together traveling to see the world and visiting with their shared kids and grandkids.
