Lieutenant Ben Sentell was killed in an automobile crash on Route 24 near Louisville, Georgia, during a period of heavy rain and flooding. His car went out of control and collided with another vehicle. Lieutenant Sentell had served with the Georgia State Patrol for 27 years.
