Incident
Deputy Sheriff Barry Harper was killed in an automobile crash on Croton Road at 1:30 a.m. His police cruiser struck a pole and overturned. He was transported to Grant Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Deputy Harper was a U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran and served with the Licking County Sheriff's Office for six years.
Survivors
He was survived by his three children.
