Patrolman Anthony Boni was killed in a vehicle crash when his patrol car struck a tree near the intersection of Broadway and Bowen Road shortly after 3:00 am. The cause of the accident was never determined. Patrolman Boni was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters, and parents.
