Incident

Deputy Myers died in a traffic accident on South Carolina Highway 23, east of Ridge Spring in Saluda County. Deputy Myers was taking a juvenile to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia, South Carolina, when a van, driven by a drunken driver, crossed the center line and struck his patrol car. Deputy Myers was pronounced dead at the scene.
