Incident

Patrolman McLeod was shot and killed after responding to a call of a man with a firearm inside of a moving company. When Patrolman McLeod arrived he parked his patrol car about 15 feet from the entrance of the moving company. From a second floor window the suspected open fire on the Patrolman McLeod with a .308 caliber rifle, striking him in the head, chest and heart killing him instantly. As Patrolman McLeod lay on the ground the suspect fired more rounds at the officer. After wounding three officers during a 10-hour standoff, the suspect shot and killed himself.

Patrolman McLeod was survived by his wife and children.
