Constable Lamont, born in Scotland, went to the United States in 1910 where he worked as a farmer. In 1913 he enlisted in the RNWMP. He contracted typhoid fever while caring for an Arctic Explorer on Herschel Island. Constable Lamont is buried on Herschel Island, Yukon.
