בן מטילדה ויעקב. שלום שמואל נולד בדרום אפריקה בי' בסיוון תר"ע (17.6.1910). הוא עלה ארצה והשתקע עם משפחתו ברמת גן. שלום היה חבר פעיל ב"הגנה". מאז 1929 היה פעיל בש"י – שירות הידיעות של ההגנה. אחרי הקמת המדינה התגייס שלום למשטרת ישראל. שלום היה בעל השכלה גבוהה בתחום החוק והמשפט. הוא היה בקיא גם באסטרונומיה. פקד שלום נפל בעת שירותו באום אל-פחם ביום ג' באדר תשי"ב (29.2.1952). בן ארבעים ושתיים היה בנפלו. הוא נטמן בבית העלמין הצבאי בנחלת יצחק, תל אביב. הותיר אישה ושלושה ילדים.
