בן דויד ודזירה. נולד ביום ח' באייר תש"ז (28.4.1947) בעיר גנס אשר בטוניסיה. המשפחה עלתה לארץ בשנת 1952. יעקב למד בבית-הספר "חינוך" בצפת, ולאחר-מכן, כתום שעות-עבודתו במלטשת-היהלומים שם, למד שנתיים בבית-ספר תיכון. השתייך לתנועת "הנוער העובד". היה קשור למשפחתו ומסור לה מאד. במאי 1965 גויס לצה"ל. עשה את שירותו הסדיר במשמר-הגבול וכשהיה מקבל חופשה היה ממהר הביתה וכן מקל על מעמסת-אמו בהדחת-כלים, בכביסה ובשאר עבודות-הבית. אך לא רק עם משפחתו היטיב כי אם גם עם חבריו. בשעת-חירום לעם, לפני מלחמת ששת הימים, יצא את ביתו באמצע חופשתו. נפל בזמן שירותו ביום כ"ד באייר תשכ"ז (4.6.1967) והובא למנוחת-עולמים בחלקה הצבאית בבית-הקברות בצפת.
