Ramandeep Kaur Maan
Incident
Correctional Officer Ramandeep Kaur Maan of Correctional Service Canada, Edmonton Institution for Women, was killed in the line of duty on 6 August 2026, aged 25, when the Correctional Service minivan carrying her, fellow officer Nicolae Serban and an inmate being transferred to the Okimaw Ohci Healing Lodge collided with a box truck at Highways 13 and 41 in the M.D. of Provost, Alberta. All three in the van died at the scene. She had only recently joined Correctional Service Canada.

Survived by her parents and her younger brother, Kamalpreet Singh Maan.
Biography
Born and raised in Gudhe village, Ludhiana, Punjab, India, she came to Canada as an international student and completed her education here. She lived in Edmonton. A regimental funeral was held for her at the Edmonton Convention Centre on 23 August 2026.
