Refugio County Sheriff's Department

Refugio County Sheriff's Department has lost 2 officers across 68 years on record. 2 — 100% — were killed feloniously, meaning officers were deliberately targeted and murdered in the line of duty. This is 31.6 percentage points above the national average of 68.4% for Others — reflecting the particular danger faced by officers in this jurisdiction.

This agency has also lost 2 K9 partners — working animals who served alongside officers and gave their lives in that service. They are honored on this memorial alongside every officer.
